On Saturday, June 15th 2019, join us for the 7th annual Soapbox Session as part of Outhouse's Mental Health and Wellbeing Day for Dublin Pride. The Soapbox Session starts at 3pm, and everybody is welcome.

Speakers from different identities and backgrounds will share their personal stories in conversation with host, Dublin Lesbian Lines’ Laura Louise Condell, on this year’s Dublin Pride theme, Rainbow Revolution.

Followed by tea and chats.

Details on speakers below.

Niamh Grennan

Niamh is the Acting Coordinator of DLL and the current VP o Welfare and Equality at IADT.

She'll be talking activism, altruism and the roles she has played in #RainbowRevolution over the last few years.

Pretty Ncube

Pretty came to Ireland in early 2016 and has been living in Direct Provision ever since. They are a single mother, love to sing and this year will become the first LGBTQIA+ Asylum Seeker facilitator in Ireland.

They will be sharing about what it is like to live in Direct Provision and how they have become a leader of Outhouse's Safe Space.

MJ Stokes

A recovering poet, MJ turned to comedy in 2018. They are the co-host of the Three Pissed Off Queers Podcast, and you can join both of their followers on Twitter @140whatnow. Alternately witty, dark, and surreal, MJ has been delighting audiences all over Ireland by poking fun at death, pointing out the absurdities of mental illness, and sharing some very strong opinions on barnyard fowl.

MJ will be talking to us about gender, mental health and comedy.

Noah Halpin

Noah Halpin is a 28 year old transgender man from Dublin. He is the founder of the This Is Me - Transgender Healthcare Campaign, which advocates for person centered, safe, accessible and best practice healthcare for transgender people. He is also a proud member of ACT UP Dublin and is passionate about ending the HIV crisis in Ireland.

Sharon Sweeney

Sharon Sweeney spoke in 2017 about being bisexual in a community where the B in LGBT is often invisible. This year Sharon is back to talk about her identity, the changes she has seen with Bi visibility and how she feels our community can make our own Rainbow Revolution to become a place where everybody is included and accepted for who they are.

Allie O'Rourke

Allie has performed nationwide, pedaling her brand of Girl Dick Energy, gracing stages such as Whelans and The Comedy Cellar. She is cofounder and 1/4 of The Petty And Heartbroken Comedy Tour, Producer and 1/3 of The Post Performance Pints Podcast and the resident MC of Bounceback Comedy. "You hear a lot in comedy about punching up and down. I've never seen someone punch themselves!"
