Support Specialists

Dublin Lesbian Line have taken the time to compile a list of support specialists (Counsellors, Therapists, Psychotherapists and Psychologists) with qualitative experience working with LGBT clients.

Each support specialist has reached full training and accreditation by two Irish Organisations IACP (Counsellors, Therapists and Psychotherapists) and the PSI (Psychologists). They have also agreed to provide an open and accepting environment, of which to explore the issues of LGBT clients referred by our service.

Feel free to ask as many questions as needed upon initial contact, such as prior experience, training, understanding of the issues at hand, method of therapeutic approach (Person Centered, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Psycho-Analytic, Gestalt, Mindfulness, Psycho dynamic, etc) and cost. There are many different approaches to therapy so it pays to become familiar with the differences, so you can find the right type for you. Remember, don't be afraid to ask questions!
